Why use Chlorine Tablets in pool or hot tub water? It is vitally important to use a sanitiser in your hot tub or pool water to keep the water clean and clear. These concentrated small tablets are slow dissolving for easy, cost effective chlorination. They are for use with a Feeder unit / Floating dispenser or simply just pop into your skimmer basket for regular effective chlorination of your swimming pool or hot tub. If you need to raise the chlorine level in your pool water quickly use chlorine granules instead. These Chorine Tablets contain stabiliser (cyanuric acid) to prevent the sun diminishing the chlorine, essential for outdoor pools.
How often should you add Small Chlorine Tablets? Everytime you swim you'll use up chlorine, if your water is heated the chlorine will be used up faster too. Rain washes algae spores into the water, and your chlorine will be used up killing them off. As such it's difficult to give an exact answer and dose rate, fill your floating dispenser with chlorine tablets and adjust the flow rate to keep the chlorine level at 2-3ppm in pools, and 3-5ppm in hot tubs.
These tablets will dissolve slowly over time, they will dissolve faster if the water is warmer or if they are placed in areas with a high flow rate. Keep an eye on the chlorine level by using Test Strips as these will tell you how much chlorine is in your water. These are the same Chlorine Tablets we use in our demo hot tubs in our Kent showroom, so if you're not sure how many tablets to add to your pool you can Contact Us for help and advice.
