Clarifying Floc for Cloudy Pool Water

What is Pool Floc?

Your pool looks cloudy when small particles are floating around in the water. Floc is designed to coagulate finer particles to make them easier for your pool filter to pick up. It restores the sparkle to cloudy swimming pool water. This granular product is ideal for use when suspended particles cloud pool water, particularly following an algae attack. The product should only be used in conjunction with sand filters.

How to Floc your pool:

Method 1 (Ideal for heavily soiled pool water) •

1. Adjust the pH to 7.4 •Shock treat the water •Pre-dissolve 800 gm per 45.5m3 (10,000 gallons) in a plastic watering can.
2. •Disperse solution over the full pool surface and allow distribution.
3. Switch off pool pump and allow settlement over a 12-24 hour period. •
4. Carefully vacuum all debris from the pool bottom to waste. •
5. Repeat if necessary.

Method 2 (Ideal for lightly soiled pools)

1. •Adjust pH to 7.4 •Make sure skimmer is free from other chemicals.
2. •Shock treat the water •Pre-dissolve at a rate of 100gm per 45.5m3 (10,000 gallons) in a plastic bucket. •
3. Slowly pour solution into the skimmer and allow the filtration to run continuously. •
4. Backwash after 12 hours Please note that this process of 'Flocing the filter' may potentially cause damage to your circulation pump if the filter is not backwashed thoroughly.
5. Repeat if necessary. Not suitable for use with cartridge filters.
